I am a freelance cellist with a performance focus on special events, worship services, improvisations, popular/orchestral music and recording. I currently perform with several regional orchestras such as Columbus Symphony and John's Creek Symphony Orchestra, as well as Luna Strings (string trio), Suzy & The Peels (jazz/cabaret) and Bow N' Banjo (Appalachian/folk).
here's A little bit of history.
Like most kids, I started my classical studies in the public school system. But I knew I wanted to pursue music as my career when I heard a recording of renowned cellist Jacqueline DuPre performing the first movement of the Elgar Concerto.
In high school, I had the honor to perform as principal cellist with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, Buckhead Youth Orchestra, and Georgia All-State Orchestra.
In 2009, I graduated from Georgia State University (Atlanta) with a degree in cello performance, where I studied with cellists Martha Gerschefski and Pamela Devenport.
These days, I do a little bit of everything.
When I am not performing with orchestras or alongside my bandmates, I challenge myself with new genres of music. I love getting out of the "classical" comfort zone and introducing the cello into jazz, bluegrass, heavy metal—as many styles of music as I can.
